Pending wages of contract workers – CMD BSNL reacted again.

It was good opportunity for me to be present in a meeting with CMD BSNL on 30th November, 2022, in connection with a scheduled meeting with BSNLEU. When Com.P.Abhimanyu, GS, BSNLEU, was discussing on some burning issues of the regular staff with the CMD BSNL, suddenly CMD BSNL raised the issue of contract workers particularly for West Bengal circle. In reply, Com. Animesh Mitra, SG, BSNLCCWF, had conveyed our experience about SLA system. He also requested to take proper action for payment of pending wages to the contract workers which is due since 2021. He also informed that the bills of vendors in SLA system are still pending in some circles though the new system has started it’s functioning. As a result, the contract workers engaged in cluster system are also being denied to get the wages in proper time. CMD BSNL has assured to look into the matter.
