BSNL Casual & Contract Workers Federation (BSNLCCWF) is the organisation of the casual and contract workers engaged in the BSNL. There are approximately one lakh workers all over India. The casual & contract workers are organised and registered in unions at circle/state levels, which are affiliated to the Federation.

BSNLCCWF was formed in an All India Convention of casual & contract workers held at Kolkata on 14-15 March 2008 in which the Constitution of the Federation was adopted. A team of office bearers with Com. V.A.N.Namboodiri as President, Com. Tapas Ghosh as Secretary General and Tapos Banerjee as Treasurer was elected. The next All India Conference was held at Lucknow on 24-25 September 2011. The aim of the Federation is to have a strong and militant organisation for these unorganised workers, put an end to the inhuman exploitation of labour and to settle the long pending and justified demands.

During the past 4 years, the Federation has taken up the major issues of the workers including Regularisation of casual labour, Minimum Wage, Social security measure like ESI, EPF and other important issues. These issues have been brought to the notice of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour and the same is to furnish its recommendations shortly. The issues have been brought to the notice of the Prime Minister, Communications minister, Labour Minister and Chief Labour Commissioner and other labour officers.

BSNL Employees Union, the recognised union in BSNL, has been solidly supporting and giving all guidance to the Federation. It has also taken up the issues with the BSNL Management and the government.

We seek support from all our well-wishers in getting justice to the exploited casual and contract workers in BSNL.

Membership campaign programme among the Casual Contract Labours.

It has come to the notice of the CHQ that though the circle union has formed in some states but the enrolment of membership is not in a good position. As a result, the collection of subscription from the members is also in poor condition. The situation was reviewed in our last Secretariat meeting in Delhi. Now, it has decided that the circle union should take a special attempt to enrol the union membership among the casual contract labours throughout the circle. It is very necessary to form the organisation at branch and district level. That is why, enrolment of membership is very necessary. Let us take a serious programme in this regard so that with in a stipulated period so that we can reach the target. For your ready reference, a format of membership form is enclosed herewith.<>
