50% cut down in expenditure against tender cost in Kerala circle – attempt to retrench contract workers.

It has come to our notice that the BSNL Management in Kerala circle has reduce the expenditure for contract workers to 50% of the tender cost, following instructions from higher authorities. This decision will adversely affect contract workers, who were already under paid. For instant, a worker engaged for 16 hours for the maintenance job gets Rs.13,000/- as salary which is inhuman and injustice also. The circle union views this move as an attempt to retrench the existing contract workers and has decided to stage an agitation at CGMT Office on 22.10.2025 to express their strong resentment against the decision.
