Circle Conference of BSNLCCWF, Assam circle, held at Panbazar Telephone Exchange, Guwahati on 04.06.2023. Com.Bijoy Deka, Circle Secretary, BSNLEU, presided over the meeting. Good number of contractual casual labourers came from different districts like, Kamrup, New Bongaigaon, Nangon, Guwahati, etc., and explained their difficulties and sufferings in the new SLA system. It has also reported in the conference that a good number of workers have been retrenched in the new system. After a good discussion on organisational matter, Com.Animesh Mitra, Secretary General, BSNLCCWF, narrated the present situation in BSNL and also the attack of Modi government to the department and workers also. A list of office bearers was also elected in the conference as Com.Bijoy Deka, President, Com.Bikash Baruah, Circle Secretary and Com.Mahesh Burman, Treasurer. It was also decided to send 7 delegates in the next All India Conference from Assam circle. The members collected Rs.1,500/- from the meeting and deposited as union subscription to the CHQ. The house has taken a decision to mobilise good gathering of casual and contract workers to the CGMT Office shortly for submitting of memorandum to the BSNL Management. Com. Sankar Das, veteran leader of AIBDPA, gave vote of thanks.
