It has come to our notice that in some circles, the management is still continuing the old practice for retirement of Contract Workers at the age of 55 Years. BSNL Casual Contract Workers federation has submitted the protest letter to CMD, BSNL by stating that there is no need to continue the old practice for retirement of contract workers at the age of 55 years when the new CLA system has already been affected in most of the circles. In this context, it can be mentioned that in the old JCL system, the Corporate Office had issued one letter for forceful retirement of the Contract Labours at the age of 55 years. BSNLCCWF had reacted on the issue and submitted its protest at that time also. But after introduction the new SLA system, the Contract Labour strength should not cut down further on the plea of retirement age at 55 years.
