Three instalments of DA have already become due since January 2025 for the casual labourers working in BSNL. Following the release of IDA arrears by the BSNL Management, the BSNLCCWF leadership met the CMD BSNL on 21.05.2026 and submitted a letter requesting approval for payment of the pending three instalments of Dearness Allowance along with salary. Com. P. Abhimanyu, President and Com. Animesh Mitra, Secretary General, explained the plight of the left-out casual labourers who are eligible for DA based on the 6th CPC pay scale. During the discussion, they pointed out that while employees and officers under the Central Government are receiving salary and DA based on the 7th CPC pay scale and BSNL employees are receiving pay scales and IDA, the poor casual labourers are still being denied three instalments of DA due from January 2025, July 2025 and January 2026. The BSNLCCWF leaders strongly stated that this continued denial of DA to casual labourers amounts to grave injustice. After patiently hearing the matter, the CMD BSNL assured that necessary action would be taken accordingly.
