Violation of labour laws and irregular payment of wages to the contract labourers – CHQ is trying to submit another memorandum to the BSNL Management.

It was requested to the CHQ office bearers and circle secretaries to submit the list of the burning issues of the contract and casual labourers for submission of memorandum to the CLC (Central). We have received the list of the major demands of the casual and contract labourers from 8 circle unions, i.e., Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Kolkata Telephones, West Bengal, NE-II, etc. Practically, it was expected to get the list of the vendors who are defaulter for making regular payment of the wages to the contract labourers for the year 2023 and 2024. It is unfortunate that only Maharashtra, West Bengal and Odisha circles have sent the list of vendors with the name of BA who are irregular for making payment to the labourers since 2023. However, we have prepared the memorandum on the major issues of the contract workers who are engaged in SLA system and also the casual labourers who are waiting for the 7th CPC pay scales and regularisation. Again, we are requesting you to send a list of vendors who are very much irregular to make the payment of wages and also violating the rules in payment of wages and social securities, so that we can take up the issue for discussion with the Director (HR) and Director (Finance).
